New Year Updates

Happy New Year everyone. I had hoped to begin the year with a fresh start and share updates in the first week of January, allowing for the introduction of new content. Unfortunately, a few days after attending a Christmas gathering, I fell seriously ill, an illness that lasted three weeks. While I am still in the process of fully recovering, I am feeling significantly better.
  • Affiliate
Aelysia welcomes a new affiliate: Christina of Midnight-Cloud. I greatly admire her work, which includes shrines in both German and English, as well as charming pixel cliques that I encourage you to explore. I extend my sincere thanks to Christina for affiliating with Aelysia.
  • Exvius
In line with clique updates, Exvius has received a refreshed design to better complement the system. I have also streamlined member management by utilizing the Listing Admin script, rather than manually processing applications. The previous manual system—approving applications, updating member details, and maintaining the database—proved time-consuming and cumbersome. The Listing Admin script, however, does not accept duplicate emails per application. As a result, the rule has changed for all future applications: one site per person is permitted.
  • Layout Archive
A navigation improvement has been added to the layout archive, Blueprint. Users can now navigate between designs using Next/Previous buttons when viewing thumbnails at larger scales, eliminating the need to close and reopen windows to view additional layouts.

Site Maintenance & Affiliate

It appears that whenever I step away from the site for several weeks, minor issues tend to arise. Recently, both the guestbook and contact form experienced functionality problems. I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who reached out via email regarding these issues. The guestbook form displayed a blank page upon submission, which has now been resolved with a quick fix. Additionally, the contact form has been temporarily downgraded to PHP 7.4 while I explore a permanent solution or identify a compatible script for PHP 8. Beyond these technical updates, submissions on Exvius and Cloudplane have been processed as usual.

Affiliate Update
I am also pleased to announce a new affiliate: Erika of Cloud Illusions. Her fansites are highly recommended and provide engaging, well-crafted content. I encourage all visitors to explore her work.

This wraps up July's update. Further updates will be shared in due course.

Revival of Aelysia.net

Another happy New Year to everyone. It has been a considerable amount of time since my last update, but the sites have not been neglected. While I have multiple in-progress projects alongside academic responsibilities, managing both has become increasingly challenging. For this update, I am unveiling the most significant project first: the revival of my main collective, Aelysia.net.

I have devoted significant effort to redesigning the site after browsing through various sources of inspiration. You may notice that the site appears different from previous iterations, particularly if you were familiar with it before its hiatus. Some of the earlier designs were experimental, such as the layout for the contact page, which required several days of coding. While the current design does not fully match my original vision, it is satisfactory for the time being. Future tweaks will refine the coding and improve the arrangement of content.

Other sections of the site have been extensively revised, either to update outdated information or to enhance the clarity and grammar of the text. It is remarkable that more than five years have passed since the site’s indefinite hiatus. Time appears to move rapidly, especially during college, and each year seems to pass even more quickly than the last.
