End-of-Year Network Update

As the year draws to a close, it provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress achieved, the lessons gained, and the milestones reached collectively. Throughout the past months, the network has continued to develop and mature, supported by sustained engagement, thoughtful feedback, and ongoing innovation.

Looking toward 2026, our focus will shift toward further expansion within the network; these developments include the introduction of new websites alongside refreshed designs. Additionally, several projects are currently in development behind the scenes. While details remain forthcoming, we also wish to advise that planned network updates and enhancements are scheduled for implementation in due course as these initiatives progress.

Thank you and we wish everyone a belated holiday and a safe new year.

Aquarel.nu Transition Notice

Hi everyone. Cerine and I would like to share an important update with you, and we appreciate your understanding in advance. For our first update of December, we are working on moving our cliques -again- to a new domain; a transition that was originally scheduled for November. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected issue with the domain's server being on hold, the updates did not proceed as intended. While our other .nu domains propagated their DNS without issue, this particular one encountered complications, forcing us to operate temporarily under aquarels.net rather than our main domain, aquarel.nu.

Before this move, we had already consolidated our cliques into a single unit, making the transition both necessary and time-sensitive. However, the issues with aquarel.nu delayed this process.

To avoid any confusion caused by the mass email sent a few weeks ago, we will be sending another update to clarify that all cliques will ultimately remain under Aquarel.nu. With this change, we are providing a new three-month grace period starting today for everyone to update their links. This adjustment will ensure that all cliques are properly linked, consistently aligned with the domain's long-term direction, and reliably maintained by a single script.

We understand that this news may come as a surprise, especially to those who have already updated their links, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. Nevertheless, we hope this explanation clarifies the reasons for the changes and the direction in which we are moving.

Enhancements and Fixes

This will be the final update for November, as most of my time this month has been dedicated to addressing various fixes. This update is based on the script nested within Enamour.nu. I have added several new features that were missed by Listing Admin, which I find beneficial from Enthusiast. Moving forward, I will continue updating all fanlistings with these minor improvements.
  1. {country_count} now injected into templates where it was previously left unreplaced.
    • show-stats.php: Computes the distinct country count for the current listing and applies str_replace('{country_count}', $la_fl_country) in the template path.
    • For non-template paths, the $la_fl_country variable is now set for downstream code when templates are not used.
  2. Enhanced show-owned.php to render templates with the country count.
    • Replaced the direct echo of getTemplate_Listings($id) with template rendering and str_replace('{country_count}', $la_fl_country, $tmpl).
    • Each listing object is now retrieved, and the distinct-country SQL is computed per listing before injection.
    • Resolved issue with membersSort() country case handling.
  3. Corrected membersSort() country case handling.
    • Fixed incorrect variable usage ($listing->dblist used instead of $listing->dbtabl).
    • Replaced misuse of mysqli_num_rows() with the proper scorpions wrapper and COUNT(*) query to return the total across all pages (not just the paged result).
    • Separated the paged SELECT query (with LIMIT) from the COUNT(*) query to ensure the displayed total reflects the full count.
    • Corrected member identifier/format argument selection for cross-listed database types (Enthusiast, Fanbase, ListingAdmin), ensuring correct rendering of member rows.
  4. Improved per-country counting in membersDefault().
    • Utilizes the correct table name and DB-type-aware COUNT(*) SQL query.
    • Escapes country values appropriately and reads the count via scorpions->obj, ensuring reliable display of per-country totals.
  5. Miscellaneous improvements.
    • Consistent usage of scorpions->query, scorpions->obj, and scorpions->total where applicable.
    • Applied basic SQL escaping and branching for different external database types (Enthusiast, Fanbase/Fanupdate, ListingAdmin).
