Spring Cleaning

This month marks one of the rare occasions when I am able to provide three updates in a single month. I have taken advantage of spring break as a temporary reprieve from the increasing demands of my obligations, which will continue until the conclusion of my externship for this semester. During this period, I have focused primarily on repairing broken images, links, and coding issues throughout the network, with particular attention to Cloudplane.

Following the conclusion of the semester, I plan to undertake a series of site revamps and resume work on several network projects. Notably, Dreamscape will undergo a significant overhaul. While the site’s content will largely remain intact, certain elements will be streamlined and reorganized to improve overall structure and usability.

In addition, I recently encountered persistent issues with form coding on several sites. After multiple days of troubleshooting, I identified a missing piece of code that had caused the forms to malfunction. This oversight had gone unnoticed because the forms functioned correctly on other sites. Addressing this issue has restored functionality and provided a sense of resolution.

New Layout

After years of inactivity and creative stagnation, I am pleased to unveil a new theme for my update log. The design process took two days to complete, with the majority of time devoted to refining the CSS and ensuring consistent formatting. My goal was to create a layout that is both simple and highly legible. With the arrival of Spring, I felt inspired to introduce a more colorful, pastel aesthetic, incorporating a wider range of shades than in previous versions. The previous theme, built on WordPress, was overly complex and required repeated troubleshooting to achieve a personalized appearance, which proved to be a persistent source of frustration, though it served well for over a year.

In developing this new design, I paid particular attention to font selection, recognizing that the typeface, size, and color profoundly influence the overall feel of a layout. For the background, rather than relying on a simple pattern or texture as before, I explored botanical line art with organic shapes. This approach harmonized with the clean simplicity of the design, as only minor adjustments to lighting and color were necessary.

Overall, I am delighted with the final result. The layout’s simplicity is refreshing, and I anticipate that this theme will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

Exvius Updates

My sincere apologies to those who submitted applications to the Exvius clique between June 2022 and March 2023. Due to commitments related to my final semester and other personal matters, I was unable to process over 15 applications during this period. Additionally, a technical issue caused the notification script to stop sending emails, further delaying processing. To address these issues, the Exvius clique has undergone a comprehensive overhaul: the application form has been repaired, additional sprites have been added, certain sections have been recoded, several pages have been revamped, and the rules have been updated.

Regarding the rules, previously it was stated that a sprite may only be claimed once per site. However, due to the backlog, some applicants during this period chose the same sprite. These applicants have been allowed to retain their preferred character without penalty. Therefore, individuals who applied during the period stated above are exempt from this rule until they choose to change their character. The one-sprite-per-site rule remains in effect for all other applicants.

I am pleased to report that the clique has now been fully restored and all forms have been successfully processed. If you submitted an application previously but do not see your site listed, please reapply using the form. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused over the past year and thank those who reached out regarding this matter.
